Pastor Eduardo Arboccó se despide del Presbiterio LNE / Pastor Eduardo Says Goodbye to the Presbytery of Northeastern Lima

La realidad de muchas de las iglesias de la IEP es que no cuentan con los presupuestos para mantener económicamente a sus pastores. Nuestro Presbiterio no escapa a esa realidad. De las nueve congregaciones que somos, sólo cuatro pueden solventar el sueldo de sus pastores. Las cinco restantes trabajan con el apoyo ad-honorem de los ancianos y algunos pastores que sirven a la iglesia "por amor a la obra".

El pastor Eduardo ha estado en esa calidad de "ad- honorem" dentro de nuestro Presbiterio hasta abril del presente año. En mayo, ha sido invitado por la IEP Ingeniería a pastorear su congregación.

Lamentablemente, dentro de los reglamentos de nuestra denominación, si la congregación a la que va a trabajar un pastor pertenece a otro Presbiterio, él y su familia deben hacer su traslado.

Desde el mes de mayo, el pastor Eduardo, su esposa Flor y su hijo Fabián forman parte de la IEP Ingeniería y el Presbiterio Lima Norte.

Agradecemos al pastor Eduardo por la gestión de la presidencia del Presbiterio LNE durante este año y medio. Gracias a su labor se han afianzado varias cosas a nivel presbiterial:

• Construcción del salón principal del local presbiterial de San Carlos.
• Creación de un sites que funciona como la página web del Presbiterio LNE.
• Creación de un blog de noticias, que nos mantiene hasta la fecha actualizado con las actividades del Presbiterio y temas generales.
• Creación de una base de fotos de todas las actividades presbiteriales desde el año 2006.
• Fortalecimiento de las relaciones con la PCUSA
• Presencia del nuevo voluntario norteamericano que en convenio con la Fraternidad Cristiana Vida trabaja con dos congregaciones del Presbiterio.
• Inicio de relaciones de nuestro presbiterio con la Iglesia Presbiteriana de Colombia, Cuba, México y Costa Rica.
• Entre otras cosas....

Estaremos orando para que el Señor acompañe el ministerio del Ps. Eduardo Arboccó en la congregación donde Dios lo ha llamado a servir.

The reality of many churches in the ECP (Evangelical Church of Peru) is that they do not have sufficient budgets to financially support their pastors. Our Presbytery is no exception. Of our nine congregations, only four can afford a salaried pastor. The remaining five are working with ad honorem support of church elders and pastors who graciously serve the church without pay.

Pastor Eduardo has been under the category of “ad honorem” within our Presbytery until April of this year. In May, he was invited by Ingeniería Church of the ECP to pastor its congregation.

Unfortunately, our denomination’s rules dictate that if a pastor is going to work for a church in a different presbytery, the pastor and his family must transfer their membership to that presbytery.

In May, Pastor Eduardo, his wife Flor and his son Fabian became part of Ingeniería Church of the ECP, which is a member of the Presbytery of Northern Lima.

We thank Pastor Eduardo for his service as President of the Presbytery of Northeastern Lima for the past 18 months. Thanks to his work, the presbytery has seen many improvements:

• Construction of the main room of the presbytery’s local offices in San Carlos.
• Creation of a functional website for the Presbytery of Northeast Lima.
• Creation of an online news blog, which keeps us up to date with the presbytery’s current activities and general topics.
• Creation of a picture database documenting all of the presbytery’s activities since 2006.
• Strengthening relationships with the PC(USA).
• Facilitating the presence of a volunteer worker from the USA to work with two of the churches in the presbytery in conjunction with the Fellowship of Christian Life.
• Beginning a relationship with various presbyteries of the Presbyterian Church in Colombia, Cuba, Mexico and Costa Rica.
• And many others.

We pray that the Lord accompanies Pastor Eduardo Arboccó in his ministry to the congregation where God has called him to serve.
